Magnificus Magnificus
‘Magnificus Magnificusʼ speaks to truth, tears and rain. Award winning dance artist and Muruwarri-Wiradjuri woman, Tammi Gissell presents a stunning call for imperative action in climate change and care for our lands.
'Magnificus Magnificus', performed by Tammi and directed by Liz Lea, dives into the world of the red tailed the Black Cockatoo. This one woman show draws upon Indigenous knowledge and stories, aligned with science, celebrating a stunning bird, her history and character in a cabaretesque explosion of feathers.
Gissell, a descendant of the Muruwari nation of north-western New South Wales, is an exceptional dancer. Every part of her beautifully-honed body is expressive and she is extraordinarily flexible in moving between vocabularies.
