




About The Point
The Point is a full length dance work exploring connections between people and place through the prism of light. A multi-national company of dancers from across Australia and India take inspiration from the notion of Bindu - the point of creation in Hindu mythology.
The Point celebrates interconnections in design, movement and music and aligns with the 150th anniversary of Marion Mahony Griffin. The work takes inspiration from the designs of Walter and Marion Griffin and the notion of ‘Bindu’ – the point of creation in Hindu mythology.
Liz Lea Dance Company has a 20 year history of creating stunning, ground breaking dance work that draws from the power and beauty of classical Indian dance. The Point team includes leading Australian exponents of Bharata Natyam, Kuchipudi and Kathak, all based in the ACT alongside leading contemporary dancers from the ACT, NSW, VIC and New Zealand. The work is supported by artsACT and being developed within a stunning installation of light by Award winning lighting designer Karen Norris.

The show that I did see last night was probably – I’m calling it- the best locally made dance work I’ve seen since being in Canberra... Bloody awesome work!
